In 2003, the parliamentary election was the extremely low turnout. And there's a split in the reformist camp about whether to even bother with the vote or whether they should,. So Rajshanjani assumes that the reformist vote will go for him and that he'll somehow just win based on his stature. But again, Ahmadinejad wins as kind of a consummate outsider consummate.
