What Do You Want Your Life to Look Like?

The key is to figure out what you want your writing life to look like. You have a huge amount of control over what that life looks like, but you have to take control. If you don't want to be the kind of writer who's writing a book a year for a publisher or a book a month, if you're independently published, that's absolutely fine too. But having more control means that you have to decide everything and you have to kind of do everything or hire people to do stuff for you. Don't let your writing become like a job that you don't get paid for.
