The First Fruits of the Spirit

Paul says Christians have the first fruits of the spirit, which means God is already at work in their lives. But they groan inwardly as we wait for adoption to sonship and redemption of our body. Groaning is what you do when you encounter a world that you know is not as it should be. There's lots of suffering that we experience that is not result of one person's sin, but is just part of the reality of living in a broken world.
