The Differential Diagnosis of a Unicameral Bone Cyst

A UBC will appear as a bublylidic lesion on x-ray, the treatment is usually aspiration and injection. Other characteristic findings include cementum spirals which are calcified eosinophilic fibrinus material in 10% of cases. You may also find uniform population of spindle cells without nuclear atypia. Non-operative options include a mobilization alone or aspiration slash methyl prednisolone acetate injection. A mobilization alone is indicated for proximal humerous lesions with pathologic fractures. 15% of lesions fill in with native bone after acute fracture.
