The Importance of Lineage in Islam

The Prophet said he was the son and grandson of Abdulmatallib. The Bedouin chieftain from another tribe asked, where's the son of Abdul Matalib? This no doubt has an impact on their embracing of Islam. "If I'm going to embrace Islam, let it be from somebody whose lineage we can admire"
