The Story of Sara and the Piutes

All month we've been honoring the legacies of indigenous women. Sara witnessed a great deal of pain and suffering at the hands of the us Government. Her language skills gained her jobs as an interpreter for the bureau of indian affairs. In 18 83, she wrote life among the piutes, their wrongs and claims. She died in 18 91 at her younger sister's home.
