Domestic Palm Oil Consumption

Per capita, people in many colonies were using more oil themselves than they were selling for export. This was true in a number of cases up through 19 fifties. And even after that periodwith with the independence movements that bring about the end of formal colonial rule in africa, african states remained big consumers of palm oil and become big importers of palm oil as their domestic production fails to keep up with demand.
