Psyche and the Master of the Palace
Psyche gives her sisters a lie so that they can't question who her husband really is. She tells them he's a lovely young man, handsome with a downy, budding beard just beginning to cast its shadow over his cheeks. Before either of the sisters can question her more, she showers them with more gifts and gold and jewels. The one keeps going on, saying quote, has for poor me, I landed a husband older than my father, who was bolder than a pumpkin and punier than a little boy,. Sounds like a pretty shitty way to live, but still, it's not really Psyche's fault.
