Eleanor Wade: The purpose of settler colonialism is that settlers are here to replace the people who are already living in a given territory and land. She says it's impossible for me not to see this case as very anxiously trying to reassert the legitimacy of a settler state. "The project of genocide has failed manifestly and spectacular," she says.
