i think the turning point for me was the mention to me background checus, a debate and defeat in two thousand and 13 i. This was a few months in the wake of the newtown massacre,. which occurred in december 20, twelfth im so then in april f 20 13, im a senator mansion of west virginia and senator tume of pennsylvania. I brought forward a bill i in response to this massacre, to implement universal background checks but it was subject to a filibuster. And ah, this wasn't the filibuster of popular imagination.
