Ancient Mesopotamian Surgery

The earliest recorded surgical procedures were in the ancient Egyptian abers papyrus. Also a contender I think for earliest surgical procedures is the Sushruta Samhita, which mentions cesarean sections and transplant surgery. Mesopotamian surgery was not separated very clearly from medicine or healing but it's still an important piece of history. And if you consider bones dug up by archeologists as recorded history then you can put the earliest recorded surgery back to 6,500 BC.
