Pobell says gap between simulated reality and actual reality is, in fact, shrinking. In simulation you don't test just one scenario - you can tast like thousands of scenarios. By simulating a hundred different levels of friction, you can quickly try those wheels out on a hundred different surfaces. And then when you go to the physical robates, very little that can surprise you because you've made your argarithm be so robust to all these different situations. As with ross, the gazibo simulation soft ware is open source. It's becoming more user friendly and more expansive all the time.
