The Disabilities of the Global South
Sally Kohn: I can't stop thinking about the work of a particular disability studies scholar named Helen Mikosha. She's credited with basically calling out disability studies as a field, she says. Kohn: Disability writers and researchers kind of out of fear of a return to the medical model of disability. The 400 plus million disabled people who are living in the global south should be taken into account more than they do, she writes.
