Chinese - A Toneless Language
Chris f writes, i'm very interested in languages, and chinese has always held a special status in my mind. I don't know much chinese, but i would like to hear more about how and when the different dialects emerged. So as a brief run down, the chinese languages are grouped into a family that's commonly known as sino tibetan. It phonogenetically links all forms of modern spoken chinese and also tibeta.
