How to Treat Dupertron's Disease
There is a higher recurrence with non-operative measures such as needle apanorotomy and collagenase injection. The PIP joint develops contracture of the secondary structures that may need more comprehensive surgical releases. A flare reaction is a pain syndrome with diffuse swelling, hyperesthesia, redness, and stiffness. You can minimize this by not splinting immediately post-op but applying splints at the first follow-up visit.
