The History of Fantasy and Horror in the 60s and 70s

The 60s and 70s were the period when fantasy and horror emerged on the other side in their modern guise. I think inevitably you had both fantasy and horror rising to new heights that it was like a gauntlet that cauldron of cultural transformation. Night of the Living Dead came out and created one of the most potent monster metaphors ever since. It's so tempestuous and so harrowing for a lot of people but we're talking about a wider swath than we want to admit. We don't want to act as if these two ways are approaching each other, which is what George Romero swears he didn't do.
