Sinematographeris very influential to me creatively, as gordon willis is one of the great scintematographers who shot all the godfather moodies. It just made an impression on me, what the stuff i admired the most was not really built on other images. Do you think that if you over source reference ma ral material, that it almost inherently puts the focus in not trusting yourself? I definitely can. If you study something enough, and io work on movies where the director really, really leaned hard into referencing a specific movie, it does mean you'll create, in some way, like a sort of facsimile the thing you're focusing on
