Women in the Court - The Story of John and Mary
Women play a big part in the story, and this is where i wanted to go next. john's wife, jane, is instrumental in lifting family out of this terrible situation, isn't she? Even before john is executed, his wife is working hard for him and for their children. None of this seems to do any good, and of course, john is executed. But this doesn't stop her. She manages to ingratiate herself, essentially, in this new court, with this new reign, sufficiently to save her children. And so the pardon of her remaining sons is dated to the day of her death.
