The Missing Mummies at the Louvre
In 18 27, when the louvre had its egyptian department, quite late, 50 years after the british museum had egyptian collections. Insogean francois champoulion was building up a collection of eroglyphs. But just a few months before the department opened ar, well, something went quite wrong in the egyptian galleries. And that something that two of the bodies that had been brought from egypt er decayed in the collections of the louvre. And they decayed so badly that they had to be removed from the collections, and they had tobe buried away from the collections.
