The Role of Female Rulers in the Crusader Empire
There are a lot of very, very powerful, very influential, very competent female rulers. The classic one is the daughter of King Baldwin II and her name was Melisande. Another example would be someone called Princess Alice who rules the Prince Paltive Antioch for a fairly, fairly long period of time. And there are other later examples as well, and also into the 13th century where that's several examples of a long standing female rule can be identified. So yes, it is possible. There are other examples of very competent, very powerful female rulers in this era. It's accepted fairly, fairly widely across the region.
