The Care of Characters in Nature Trail Stories
Every character that I've written in these stories, they were created to explore something that I'm struggling with at the time. There's always some sort of emotional truth to them and I think I have to have experienced it firsthand to be able to write them. The diversity of the collection is one thing about trying to write a whole collection of stories set on nature trails. If the setting is the same and all the stories like your characters and conflicts better be pretty different for it to stay interesting both for yourself as the writer and for the reader.
