The Problem of Pain: A Grief Observed
It was published originally under a pseudonym. Why was that, do you think? I think Lewis felt that he had to protect people himself, but also his friends, and therefore it was best, he thought, to simply write it anonymously. It was very much out of line with his earlier writings, and that might have caused puzzlement to other people. And so he had it published by Faber and Faber, which was not his usual publisher.
