Reparations - The Most Objectionable Thing in the Treaty
The germans had to accept the economic clauses, the most important of which were reparations. The allies couldn't agree on what this figure that was owing was er. They would have a huge impact on german living standards and particularly on the tremar government finances. Reparations are also objectionable because of article two, three, one, which is the opening clause of the reparation section of the peace treaty. And it's called the war gilt clause as it justifies the demand for financial compensation from the germans and their partners.
