You were the first american woman to conduct a space walk. Was that galling? Oh, i think not particularly. We quite expected it. When the press release came out announcing my first flight, it included the fact that sally roy would fly on the same mission. That would make her the first woman to fly twice. So we always teased that svetlana owed us her second flight in her space walka space walk itself. It's pretty, pretty amazing to fly at 17 thousand, 500 miles an hour from the daylight side of the earth across the terminator and see sunshine still signing on your spacecraft. And realize there could be a little kid down there on the earth
