I'm afraid that I'm always going to be obsessed with success and who I am in the eyes of others. There's a great article called code narcissism which describes when you have a parent who is very much my way or the highway, there's no opposing viewpoints. And one of the things that the children of those parents wind up using to cope is we become manipulative. We learn how to read a scene and say, who do I need to become for me not to appear selfish? How do I bury my needs, but get them met? Yeah. You're a horrible person because you were 15 minutes late coming to before. Triave, it goes bad.
