In 2009, an American senator introduced a bill claiming that our children have a strong understanding of our nation's past full stop end of story. In the 21st century what people need is an understanding of our world where we live and we don't need anything else. But were mistaken if we think this was the first time that humanity went global and then came back to the local. Actually we can go much further back to the ancient Greeks and Romans. Following the conquest of Alexander the Great there are on the new era of global Riverus in India. The successes divided up that world but became ever more resolutely connected until the end of the third century BCE.
