Ukraine - The War of Our Time

Ukrainian war has taken over our smart phones and dominates our days. Many draw on what they already know and feel, some seeing it with eyes which survived other conflicts. In the first days, individual lives swiftly wove together in a collective swelling of patriotism. Lawyers, doctors, accountants took up guns for the first time. Villages turn out o mass to stop the advance of armored convoys. Kievs cobbled lanes are now strewn with ugly anti tank barricades known as hedgehogs. But in this beleaguered capital, the bells still ring out reassuringly on the hour.
