Stan Laurel and his colleagues in Paris have literally, I guess, hundreds of experiments with shed light on how the architecture of the human mind is organized. They are hardly touched on the tool-infested brain of you - although they rely on it all the time. How could a Gaudy-like comprehension arise out of this organization of clueless bits? The answer is culture which relies on cultural evolution but is a separate evolutionary process.
