Paul Polk has served as sheriff of Lawrence County for 16 years. He was not in office when the Kendrick Johnson case came to light, so he wasn't part of the investigation at the time. There are many rumors surrounding the case that aren't true and have been spread by people who want to stir up controversy. "There's so much mis disseminated information that it becomes almost overwhelming to tackle," says Polk.
