Al Gore's Recount in Florida Violated the Constitution

In 2000, we had a guy named Al Gore who went to court and said, I want to, excuse me, who didn't go to court. He got three counties in Florida to to recount the vote. Even though state law said that you had to have a certain standard in order to have a recount. And eventually, the US Supreme Court held that this violated the Constitution because it was trying to run a recount under rules that were not in effect on election day.
