Surgical Management Techniques for Osteoarthritis
The technique involves traction in line with a thigh, the extremity should be slightly adducted, and then counterforce on the pelvis. Postoperatively, rehabilitation will involve mobilization with immediate early range of motion. Be sure to stress strengthening of the quadriceps and abductors. Radi-graph should be done after 6 months to evaluate for avascular necrosis and osteoarthritis.
