The Invisiblization of Care Work

Under the original wagner act, a position of health care workers was ambiguous. It didn't seem like a superpressing issue because health care was just not that big of an industry. The same invisiblization of care work enabled women's labor in the home to reproduce the working class without being recognized as work. That also facilitated the legal exclusion of wage health care workers from the protection of labor law.
