The Labor Party in Parliament Was the Voice of the Trade Union Movement

There was no labor party as such in the nineteenth century. In order to you couldn't join the labor party as an individual member. You joined an affiliated organization, and that might be a trade union or an independent labor party. And those bodies themselves what made up the labor party. That didn't change until the 19 twenties, when it became an individual membership organization.
