The Importance of Practice in Case Interviews
The interviewer wants to see that you can walk your client through their thinking. You're going to do the math correctly as you do calculations and then we're able to make sense, layer on insights. If I need something but I don't have it, I ask the interviewer for it. The less experienced you are overall, the more I may be okay with you taking a pause. But at Bain and BCG, you are likely to be knocked down on your problem solving score for doing same thing.
