The Treatment of Adult Acquired Flat Foot Deformity
A 56-year-old woman comes to your office with foot pain after a nine-month trial of orthotics. Your examination reveals the hindfoot is in valgus, the arch is depressed, and the forefoot is abducted when the foot is viewed posteriorly. The patient presents with a stage 2B acquired flat foot deformity. Tino-synovectomy followed by UCBL orthoticus or triple arthrodesis are appropriate treatments for this condition.
