Prayer is an indispensable part of christian discipleship. Jesus our lord kept withdrawing from the milling crowds in order to be alone with his father in prayer. Human beings are at their greatest and highest when upon their knees, they come face to face with god. When a human being is speaking to god, he or she is at their very acme.
