The History of the Slavery Market in Manhattan
The Wall Street to Dibbit is an attempt to basically just give representation, a very basic form of representation to the enslaved people that did so much of the work to build the United States. Most of my exhibits have people mostly nude, and a lot of that deals with some of the details behind when people were treated as chattel property. Over 40% of 18th century households in Manhattan had a enslaved person who was essentially a domestic person.
