The Importance of Having Senior Advisors Answer Questions
Hope Hicks and Annie Donaldson have ended up in these sort of negotiated situations doing things either written or behind closed doors. What I think is a problem right now is that the question of immunity, whether you have to show up at all, and the question of privilege are being bifurcated in a really clunky way. It would be better if the branches could accommodate and collapse those two questions into one. Right now, what you have is a White House who is denying the legitimacy of Congress' investigations. They're going to fight tooth and nail.
