Society is creating a huge void that it cannot fulfil exactly, and elivs of these people. It's making a promise that it doesn't realize its making. Even people who understand that there's something serious happening here, think the preferred pronouns is just a nice accommodation. But once you say that a man is a woman, she her, it becomes very hard to argue that that man shouldn't use woman's spaces isn't a lesbian.
