The American People Are Ready for an Honest Conversation About the National Debt Crisis

I think the American people are seeing the relationship between the national debt and their pocketbook. President Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neill sat down back in the 1980s and they negotiated a long-term phase-in of a higher retirement age. They preserved Social Security for another 30 years. If we leave this unchecked, honestly, Brian, our national debt will increase by five times in the next 25 years. It'll either be cutting programs or massively increasing taxes.
