Lee County, Florida plans to start reopening most of its schools on Monday. But those buildings must first meet critical safety checks. Lee County is just one recent example where extreme weather brought on by the climate crisis is having an extreme impact on education. A government study found that more than 300 presidentially declared major disasters have occurred across all 50 states and US territories since 2017.
