The Rise and Fall of Roger Mortimer
Roger Mortimer was chief governor of Ireland from 1320 to 1322. He and his family were at the center of a dispute with Edward II over rights in Wales. The Welsh Marchalords believe they actually do have these liberties that their law runs, not the king's law. They are seen as a real threat to a way of life that is not simply a court life.
