The Fed's Soft Data Makes It Less Likely to Keep Hiring Rates
Bob Bassani: The market is cheered by the softer data this morning, making it less likely that the Fed will need to keep hiking rates. Consumer prices were up just 3.2% year over year, a little less than expected. It's also well down from the 9.1% peak we saw last June. Jobless claims,. meanwhile, those were slightly worse than expected. So is the Federal Reserve done hiking? Does that make recession less likely?
