Do I Need a Distal Ulnar Fixation?
Vujjj at all reviewed the clinical impact of united vs nonunited fractures of the proximal half of the ulnar styloid following boulder plate fixation. They report no difference in motion, strength or outcome scores between the united and nonunited groups at 6 months follow up. The primary method to prevent disability related to DRUJ injuries is anatomic reduction of the distal radius which often results in an anatomically reduced DRUJ.
