Jonathan Chate: We can all come to a consensus as to whether or not trans people deserve to exist. And in the meantime, we can create unity and sustain the stability of our Rawlsian liberal society through just asking questions together. He says that transitioning is a kind of self abolition; if you medicalize it, you take away precisely that sort of social power of transition. "I think like that, that is the, that is part of the threat to society presented by trans people," he adds.
