The Historical Relationship Between Theory and Experiment

Theoretical physics as an independent sub-discipline didn't really exist until the last part of the 19th century. Zomafel was actually incredibly nervous about becoming a physicist because he didn't know anything about experiment. Plank invokes experiments as he's working through this theoretical work, and one of the things that I show is that he sets up theoretical proofs in voking theorized experiments.
