The Disbanding of the Sports Department of the New York Times
New York Times announced that it is disbanding it's sports to department in a statement times editors said the paper would scale back the newsrooms coverage of games players teams and leagues relying for that on the athletic which it bought last year for $550 million more than 35 reporters and editors on the sports desk are being reassigned. The move might make some business sense but it ends more than a century of heralded daily sports coverage featuring titans like red smith dave anderson and george vesey. Also our next guest robert lip site bob joined the new york times sports department as a copy boy in 1957 and was promoted to reporter at age 21.
