The Triumph of the British Empire

Britain certainly came out of it victorious although with a heavy debt which is to help cause the problems with the American colonies. It was perceived in France and Spain as a major defeat I think it was fairly clear by the fall of New France in 1760 that the British had won. There was an enormous sense of alarm concern about French backed Jacobite invasions as late as 1759 a worry about what might happen if we'd lose.
