The Dickensian Aspect of the Industrial Revolution

For centuries before 1850 or so, the economy grew, but workers wages did not grow. And all that extra wealth went where, of course, it went to the economic elite. The Chartist movement proposed a charter that would essentially rebalance the social system in UK. That gave time for the elites to finally work on- Release some of the pressure. Ironically, you use this to our some of our listeners who view Trump as supporter of the working class.
