The Story of Wendy's Escape From a Violence-Injured Man
Wendy was stabbed multiple times and lost nearly three liters of blood. Hospital staff quickly connected the dots between Wendy and a man who'd come into the same hospital that same night. The downtown East side of Vancouver is Canada's poorest neighborhood, the Skid Row basically. In over a decade prior, women had been vanishing from Vancouver's downtown Eastside. These were vulnerable women often who were sex workers and often who had debilitating drug addictions.
